In a rampant Texas dust storm the White Sox trounced the Amarillo Panhandlers yesterday afternoon, 11 to 2. dust three miles out on the prairie. It seemed more pleasant to go back to shelter with the crowd and that's the reason only seven innings of this combat are recorded. Several of the regular players left and extra pitchers were shunted to outfield and infield positions as a relief corps. It was by far the worst farce of a same the Sox have experienced this season- Yuma and El Paso have champion teams compared to the local crew. The Sox made nine runs when the second inning was over, and there was nothing but horse play from then on. As in the Yuma and Kl Paso games, the horse play doubtlessly gave the big: leaguers some exercise.

CAMPI REJECTS BOUTS ill EAST TO REMAIN Oil COAST Bantam Prefers to Stick to Long Route Unless He Can Battle Coulon. Los Angeles, Cal., April 3. If little Eddie Carapl gets a return match with Johnnie Williams he will have nobody to blame for himself for his predica ment. Close friends of the San Francisco lad are urging him to go east and try the six-round game, where his speed and cleverness would make him a sure winner. Campl declines, saying that he will remain in California and do twenty-round : labor until, he has bad a chance at tne Dantamweigni cnampion. Williams has agreed to box Campl again. Promoter McCarey announced today that the date for this event would come during the second week in May and that he would endeavor to bring Johnny Coulon here in August to meet the winner. If there is one thing that Campl needs It is to develop a punch. The clever youngster .has boxed an even fifty rounds in the Vernon ring without delivering one blow that would hurt a child. With Frankie Burns Saturday the going was easy for Campi. His dazzling speed and cleverness enabled him to make the Jersey Jabber look like a novice, but his punches were as harmless as the slap of an open hand. Frank Gotch, champion wrestler, emerged from the retirement of his Humboldt (Iowa) farm long enough to take two straight falls from George Lurich, the Russian strong man Tuesday night. Gotch won the first fall in 18:10 with an arm and toe hold and the second with a double nelson in 5:35. The match was seen by 17,000 per sons, who packed Convention hall. Hundreds of women were among the spectators. ' There was some dissatis faction over long drawn out preliminaries which delayed the opening of the main event until nearly 11 o'clock. Gotch appeared much stronger than the Russian and he was the aggressor throughout the match. Lurich seemed unable to get a good hold on Gotch and the half dozen times that he was on top he was unable to move the Iowa giant, who sqiurmed away apparently at will. On the other hand, Gotch con tinually was securing half nelson, head and arm. leg or toe holds on Lurich, who seldom was able to spring to his

The Toledo players have had the advantage of a long course in training stunts with the Cleveland Naps at Pensacola, "and have rounded into good shape. Most of the players of last year are back on the Job, and Hartzeli hopes to engineer some trades which will make the team even stronger than in 1912.
