in addition to a good-sized audience of non-delegates attended the rally held
last night at the Methodist church o
East Chicago by the Epworth Leagues
from Northern Lake county.
The event was for the purpose of get
ting acquainted and preparing for the
Hammond district convention which will be held in the East Chicago Methodist church ome time in June
The delegates came from Valparaiso,
Lowell, Gary, Hammond. East Chicago,
Indiana Harbor and Whiting and the meeting was most satisfactory the
greatest enthusiasm being ahown.
The rally opened with a reception
lasting from (:30 until 7-80 o'clock.
After this refreshments were served by
the local Epworth league, and the
meeting then proceeded to a most ex
cellent program, the main feature of
which was a talk on "Idols and Ideals,
by "McNutt the Dinner Pall Man'" The audience was quite carried away by this most Interesting discourse. There
were other talks by Dr. F, O. Fraley of
Hammond, Mrs. J M. Avann of Gary.
