CELEBRATES AXMVERSAUV. A number of Hammond and Chicago ladies .were; delightfully entertained by Mrs. George A. Geyer at her home in Ogden street yesterday afternoon. The party celebrated her birthday anniversary -and she;recived a number, ot pretty gifts In remembrance of the day. The- hours until four-o'clock -were spent pleasantly with needle work . after which a dainty two course luncheon was served. The stables In the. dining

room were decorated with flowers. The members of the Wednesday Afternoon Embroidery Circle were among tho guests. The following were the guests: Mrs. Rauen and Mrs. Kilbiirg of Chieggo; Mrs. Schoon, Mrs. Smith, Mrs, Frlcke, Mrs. Muelberger and Mrs. Kum of Hammond. A 1H DAV SESSIOX.

There was a meeting of the Martha Society yesterday. The members met for an all day session In the parlors of the First' Christian church in Calumet avenue. A dinner Was served at noon after which the members spent the remainder of the .aftrhoon sewing and Quilting. A great deal of work was accomplished. A number of members were In attendanceat the meeting. Flans were made to meet again next Thursday and the usual program will be followed.' The committee of which 'Mrs. Grant Walters Is chairman will have charge of the meeting. They

will also be in charge o'r the two sales to be heliir tomorrow. Home bakery and bakedfbeans will be sold at RufFa Hardware Store -;,tn.' A very interesting meeting of the Baptist Women's Vnlon took place yesterdayafternoon at the home of Mrs. A. C. Berry in Mason street. A large number of members were in attendance and thoroughly enjoyed the program. The president, Mrs. W. A. Hill presided during the business session after which the meeting was given over to the Child Culture Section. Mrs. J, O. Dickson had the program in charge. The children of the Riverside school will give the "Brownies Whispers," a floral cantata this evening at the First Christian church In Calumet avenue. The program will consist of songs and drills by the children of the grades. They will be daintily and appropriately drops, flowers, sunbeams, the. gardner and his daughter. The entertainment will be one of the delightful affairs ot the school year and It Is desired that many attend. A number 'of tickets have already been disposed of. The proceeds will be used for the school. AX AFTERNOOX PARTV. Tetsterday afternoon at her home in East State street, Mrs. Addle Abbott very pleasantly entertained the members of the Colonial Club. It was the afternoon for the regular semi-monthly meeting and a number of the members were present. They spent the afternoon until four o'clock with their needle work, after which a dainty two course luncheon was served. Mrs. Julius Dunslng will entertain the club at her home In Carroll street on the afternoon of March JT. Mrs. Dunslng wll be hostess at a thimble party. A BRIDGE PARTT. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wolf Invited guests to their home at 934 South Hohman street last evening for seven tables of cards. The party was one of the most delightful of the season. It was one of the first of the St. Tatrlcks Day parties. The appointments were in white and green for St. Patricks Dcy and were, very dainty and pretty. The luncheon favors were little green baskets filled with bon-bons. The par lors were decorated attractively with ferns and green carnations. v A two course luncheon was served after the guests had enjoyed several games of cards'.
