The barbers of the city have entered into an agreement whereby their shops will be closed on Monday evening after 6 o'clock during the summer months at least. The idea is to give the hard worked barbers an evening oft during the week, and the night selected will be of little inconvenience to the public. It is said the city council, in order to make the collection of water taxes up to date a certainty, will soon issue an order that, all those in arrears must pay the assessment or stand the alternative of having the water shut off. ulte an amount is still unpaid and the members of the council feel compelled to take the stand in order to oollect the necessary finances for the water works maintainance. Attorney Prank B. Pattee and Wil

liam Parry are in Hammond today on

legal business. The book committee of the public library will meet at the assembly room this evening. Over on hundred dollars was clear

ed for the public library by the recent

benefit play. "Mr. Bob." Th.e plan to

stage the play at Lowell has been

abandoned.

Mrs. August Hildebrandt delightfully

entertained the members of the "Embroidery club at her home on South

street yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Florence Tompkins, who has

been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs

William Krlmbill on East street, re-

turned yesterday to her home in Milwaukee, Wis. The Jury sitting in the circuit court has been dismissed until Wednesday of next week, other court matters not necessitating a jury being taken up. The Lyric theater is featuring many of the best films in the business at present, and the patronage of the popular playhouse has- never been better.

Hot Air Furnace Troubles Solved IF the heat travels too slow through yoHir hot air furnace pipes; IF your hot air furnace pipes are so long that the heat radiates before it reaches your rooms; . IF your hot air furnace will not drive the heat to your rooms with northern exposure; IF you have any room which cannot be kept warm by your hot air furnace during severe cold weather; THEN install in the cold air box of your furnace a portable ELECTRIC FURNACE BLOWER and all of these hot air furnace troubles will be solved. It forces fresh air into the furnace to be warmed, this air in turn displaces warm air in the furnace and pipes, forcing it rapidly through all outlets direct to your rooms, just where it is needed. THE ELECTRIC FURNACE BLOWER may be connected by attachment plugs to any convenient electric light socket in the cellar. It consists of a motor fitted with a six blade quiet fan of patened shape and mounted substantially in a sheet iron casing with cover and handle. Let us submit an estimate for installing an Electric Furnace - Blower in your house.
