CLABBY CARD
IS OUT TODAY
Final arrangements are being com
plated for the Clabby-Zanders ten
round no decision go to be held at the
Hammond theater Thursday evening,
Feb. 27. With the - announcement of
the card today the bouts preceding the
main attraction will be the classiest
that have ever been seen in this vicln
lty and should draw an atetndanco that
will pack the theater' from tho ring
side to the peanut gallery.
Complying witt . tKO owlftre of Chief
Austgen of Hammond, tho promoters secured the '; services- - of six plain clothes men from Chicago yesterday
afternoon, who, with an extra squad of Hammond police., will see that , -no sneak thieves slip into the hall. Each
participant on the card will bo compelled to undergo a thorough physical examination at least' 24 ' hours before the fight and the' physician's report turned over to Cheif Austgen. The bouts will be run under tho by-laws adopted by the Indianapolis police and
boxing commission.
Intense is the Interest that is being
taken in the outcome of the ClabbyZanders tilt. While the boy printer is rounding into shape at O'Connell's gymnasium in Chicago, Clabby is doing daily training stunts In Hammond.
Without a doubt the main attraction
will bo one of the cleverest exhibi
tions of boxing that has ever been seen in the radius of 100 miles. Clabby, who is a pastmaater in every trick, punch and step of the roped arena, will go up against a boy that is equally as clever and It is evident that some mixing will be done.
One of the new and pleasing feature!
that will be seen at the Hammond the
ater on that evening will be a seven-
piece orchestra which will furnish plenty of musical selections between the bouts. The balance of the program will be:
Curtain raiser Richie and Riley of
South Chicago, six rounds.
Preliminary Young Bishop and
Young Ole, six roundB.
semi-windup Eddie Clabby of Ham
mond and Dutch Hendron of South
Chicago, eight rounds.
