The ladies of the society will prepare a large assortment of home bakery articles and special orders may be left by calling- 81SR. was hostess at the Hammond Country Club yesterday from twelve to two o'clock to a large party of ladies at one of the most perfectly appointed luncheons of the winter season. The jfuests were seated at one long beautifully decorated table, at which the hostess presided. The gathering was given in honor of Mrs. Warwick's guests from Eaton, Ills. The decorations everywhere were in yellow and the dining room was darkened to permit the soft light tones of a half dozen five candled candelbras to hine on the dinner appointments. Yellow crepe streamers to the corners of the table added to the artistic effect and tulips were the floral decorations and favors. Covers were laid for thirty-three- and the luncheon was served in seven

of Whitins j courses. After the luncheon, the guests

were taken to the main living room and "five hundred" was played, handsome prices being awarded the winners who were Mrs. A. J. Lauer and Mrs. Frank Uavlt. The consolation trophy was awarded to Mrs. Rhelneman. The guests were all from Whiting and Lacon, Ills., except Mrs. W. D. Patton of Hammond. They were: Mesdames W. E. Warwick, J. E. tendance was not large as usual. The day was given to the study of the drama. The members responded to

roll call with short descriptions of plays they had seen. This was an interesting feature of the program. Mrs. Verne Summers read a splendid article on "The German Drama" prepared by Mrs. W. A. Poyser who was unable to attend the meeting. "The Pillars of Society" by Ibsen was treated in a delightful book review by Mrs,

Edith B. Griffin. Mrs. Griffin also gave an interesting account of "Madga". As usual Mrs. Griffin's part in the program was very enjoyable. The next meeting will occur in two weeks.
