ARE REPORTED AEA'N Indiana Harbor Woman
May Take Over the Hotel Carleton.
Ed Mee is to run the bar in connection with the Hotel Mee, the new hostelry, which will be opened for business on Monday or Tuesday of next week. He had the license transferred tha 6th of last month and will move shortly. It is understood that Mrs. Thos. O'ConneU, the divorced wife of Thos. O'Connell of Indiana. Harbor is to take over the Carleton hotel and run it. The lease, however, is to be held by some other person.
The management of the Monon hotel denies that it is to take the lease of the Carleton hotel. It is known that Anton Tapper is to build a new hotel next spring, but the name of the lessee has not yet been determined.

Such feeder towns as Miller, Hobart, Garyton, Chesterton, Crown Point, Highland and even Indiana Harbor, East Chicago and Hammond where hundreds of the Gary steel workers
live, will benefit by the increase. The bulk of the money apportioned for the Increase goes to tha Indiana Steel company plant, where 8,000 are are on the payroll. Its increase alone amounts to $720000 a year.

Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Hirsch and their little daughter, Edna, returned to Hammond last evening frdm Hot Springs, where they had spent three weeks. Getting off the train in Chicago, they encountered the cold snap and realized a difference in temperature of nearly sixty degrees.
They enjoyed a very pleasant stay and met a number of acquaintances there, among them the Rev. H. M.

Several carloads of lumber and supplies have been Shipped to Hegewisch and will be available for the builders there. at the Porter county seat last night by a close .score of 29 to 26. Failing to make train connections two of Hammond's star players, had to return to Hammond while their positions were filled by some Valpo substitutes. The game was fast and Interesting from start to finish and although the Lederers were handicaped by the loss of two star men, they gave the Porter county seat team a run for their money.
