What is believed to be the first move in preparing the site for the American Car Foundry company's Gary plant is reflected In the following paragraph taken from a Washington dispatch: "Senator Shlvcly of Indiana today proposed an amendment to the river and harbor bill authorizing a change
in the channel of Calumet river
through the property of the Gary Land
Co. and Indiana Steel company In Lake
county, Ind. A new channel is to. be
constructed, according to the amend
ment, if the land owners cede to the
United States ownership and control
over the land through which the new
channel is proposed to go. The old

At 2:30 yesterday afternoon Just one week had elapsed since the most daring murder ever perpetrated in Chicago that of Detective Peter Hart by Robert Webb, the auto bandit. Although the entire city police force and half of the detectives in big cities throughout the country have been engaged in the quest for the elusive bandit during the week practically nothing tangible has been accomplished. The week's search may be summarized as follows: Men arrested as Webb 63 Men released 63 Rewards offered for Webb's arrest, total .8700 Daces raided as possible hiding spots for Webb 16 IMaces Webb is reported to have been seen (estimated) 200 Commanding officers who have charge of the search for Webb yester

There is more Catarrh ln this section of the country than all other diseases put together, and until the last few years was supposed to be incurable. For a great many years doctors pronounced it a local disease and prescribed local remedies, and by constantly failing to cure with local treatment, pronounced it Incurable. Science has proven Catarrh to be a constitutional
disease, and therefore requires constitutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure, manufactured by F. J. Cheney & Co., Toledo, Ohio, is the only Constitutional cure on the market. It is taken internally ln doses from 10 drops to a teaspoonf ul. It acts directly on the blood and mucous surfaces of the system. They offer one hundred dollars for any case it fails to cure.
