WILL MKKT NEXT WEEK... The next meetine; of the HelpiiiK and Embroidery Club will take place Thursday, December 12th at the home of Mrs. Emma Kroer in Truman avenue. The meeting? which was announced would take place yesterday was postponed on account of illness among the members.
A II IRV1CST PAKTV. Miss Florence Stommel was hostess at a very pretty Harvest Party last Pveninp at hr home in Russell street. Music and canws were features of the evening until ten o'clock when a luncheon was served. The refreshments
were served in two courses at a beautifully decorated table in the dining? room. A huge pumpkin filled with fall fruits and grains decorated the center of the table. Little baskets tied with yellow ribbon streamers and filled with candy corn were grlven ths guests as favors Jn the dining room. In the parlors the decorations were in the harvest colors of jreen and brown. The lights were shaded with crepe paper. The party at which Miss Stommel was hostess was one of the prettiest events of the season. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Will Humpfer, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Rinohart, Miss Hose Schulze of Chicago,

The Masonic Temple in Muenich Court was decorated apropriately for pthe holiday season yesterday by the members of the Ladies' Aid Society of the. First Presbyterian Church who held their annual bazaar and supper there. There was a prettily decorated Christmas tree and the booths whore articles of needle work were sold were trimmed attractively with red and green crepe paper. The members of the society had a larpe assortment of pretty hand made articles, many of which were sold and brought in a nice sum for the church. There was a larga attendance at the supper. The hours of serving continued between five and eight o'clock. It is expected that there would have been u much' larger attendance if the weather had been pleasant. IIOLO WEEKLY MEETING. Mrs. W. A. Hill, the president of the Baptist Women's Union was at homo yesterday afternoon to the members at her South Hohm.-tn street residence. The meeting opened with song and scripture reading: lead by Mrs. C. J. Coulter after which the members of the Physical Culture department took charge of the program. The discuss'on was lead by Mrs. Floyd H. Adams, chairman of that section. Mrs. Horton played a very pretty violin selection. The piano accompaniment was played by Mrs. Georgre Houscr. At the close

The Woman's Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Joseph's Court No. 513 at their ' regrular meeting Wednesday December 13th elected officers for' the year 1913. There was a larjre attendance of the membership and a number of visitors were also present. At the close of the lodge session refreshments were served and a pleasant time was spent socially. Y., who has been the guest of Hammond and Chicago relatives has gone to Milwaukee. - Miss Bonner came to attend the marriage of her cousin. Miss Rose Kinney. Mrs. Margaret Nealon has returned to her home in Oswego, N. Y.. after a visit with Hammond and Chicago relatives.

was arrested by Officer Miller last night at the South Shore' depot on Hoh-
man street where he was found in an intoxicated condition. This morning he pead guilty before City Judge Barnett
receiving a fine of $11.00. Unable to pay Leschna will be taken to Crown Point today Jn default of payment.

New Prosecutor Soon. Prosecuting Attorney Charles Greenwald was in Hammond today and said that his term of office expires on the 31st of this month. He says that the ne wprosecutor, J- A. Patterson, will take office on, the first. Greenwald says that there is no longer any money In the office. He says that the territory Is so extended that It costs all the office is worth to employ deputies. He says that he did no make a dollar until he got hold of Ralph Ross and was able to take charge of the Gary office. There are so many more arrests In Gary than anywhere else in the county that the Gary end of the business is the real plum. -
