Reilley of South Hohman street will leave for Boston this evening where she has sbeen called by the death of her sister, Mrs. Julia Cooke. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. DeLong returned yesterday from an over Thanksgiving visit with with their daughter. Miss Vera DeLong who is attending the Michigan State Normal at Ypsllantl. They also visited at Ann Arbor and Detroit. Mrs. Joseph Herman of Dyer was a visitor in Hammond today. James R. Graves is 111 at his home in Erie street. Mr. and Mrs. Morough O'Rrien and son, Morough, have returned to South Uend after an over Thanksgiving visit with Hammond relatives. They came to attend the marriage of Mrs. ORrien's brother, Vern William Parker and Miss Patience Swanton which was solemnized Wednesday, November 27th. Miss Marguerite Knotts of Muenteh Court returned home yesterday morning after an over Sunday visit with Miss Kathryn Switzer at her home in Plymouth, Ind. PASTORS GATHER AT GARYYJSTEROAY Financial Matters of Church Association Are Discuss

A regular meeting of the Christian Church District Association was held at (lary yesterday afternoon, and moat of the time was devoted to the dis cussion of financial matters pertaining to the district. The Rev. C. J. Sharp of Hammond presided, and the Rev. II. A. Carpenter of Indiana Harbor as secretary. At torney S. Among other thinKS it was decided to pay another live hundred dollars out of the district treasury toward me payment of the church lot at Tolleston and plan were also discussed to clve support to the Glen Park mission. A rally will be held at this church next Sunday afternoon, and ministers of the surrounding congregation have promlsd to cooperate for tho occasion. BETS THEIR 11 The movement for a Vnlted Charities in Hammond received a strong boost this morning when the Hammond Min isterlal Association, went on record en dorsing th United Charities for the city. Much of the charity which is dlspen ed comes from the church organiza tions and the various pastors realiz that it would furnish a proper vehicle for systematic charity which would orevent the overlapping, one of the bane of promiscuous charity. In various social organizations the United Charity project is a live topic Just now, and the. action of the Minis terial Association will undoubtedly be received with much satisfaction. The Rev. F. H. Adams of the First Baptist church presided at the meetin and arrangements were completed for the holding of the mid-winters union evangelistic campaign which is to open on December 29th. RESPECTED IS DEAD Sickness which confined him to his home at 113 Fayette street since the first of July, resui'.ed in the- death of another respected and pioneer citizen of Hammord early this morning when F.urton S. Hutson passed away at the family residence at 12:25 a. m. His death was due in asthma ano, dropsy. The funeral will be heiiT from the residence on Fayette street Thuisday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. F. O. Frr.ley of the Methcdist church will conduct the services and interment will be made at Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Hutson was first taken ill nearly six months ago when he complained about his health. At times he was able to leave the house, but his condition grew rapidly worse.. Six weeks ago he was confined to his bed and since that time little hopes were given out for his recovery. Yesterday he suffered a relapse passing away at 12:25 this morning. Mr. Hutson was nearly 69 years of age and came to Hammond nearly 25 years ago where he acquired a large circle of friends. With his son he was engaged as a carpenter, at which he worked until the last year. The new or nts aeatn mis morning caused a shock among his wide circle of friends who extend their deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. Mr. Hutson is survived by two sons and two daughters, Albert and WHltam of Hammond; Mrs. C. Waters, Chicago, and Mrs. Daisy Welsch of West Hammond. Mrs. Hutson died 17 months ago. Back Tomorrow. Irving and Frank Beta are expected back from Europe on Wednesday or Thursday. They arrived in Europe yesterday and are on their way home. Irving has been attending school in London and Frank went over on busi ness for his father. Is Better. William Camp, who is very sick at his home at South Hammond, is reported to be better today.
