TH CLABBYS MAKES TIGERS 1912 CI1A1PI
NS
Tho Kast Chicago gridiron warriors proved their rltiht to tho championship honors of hake county yesterday afternoon at the East ChleaRO baseball park, when they held the fast flabby A. A. squad of Hammond to a ti In a fcruellngr battle, by a score of 3 to 3. If it had not been for the toes of Miller of Hammond and Sternberg of East Chicago the cam would have been scoreless, each making a sensational drop and place kick, respectively, that sent the howling enthusiasts into hysterics. Dame Fortune was not with the Clabby's asaln yesterday, as three times the East Chicago go. line was in danger and every mad attempt to shove the pigskin across the line proved futile. At these critical moments the Clabby lineup fought desperately, but the horseshoe was a minus factor! resulting: in Hammond beinjr unable to score. The prridiron was !n Rood shape, but the holiday attendance was not as larpe as was expected. With the exception of two players East Chicupo used her regular lineup, while Hammond on account of injuries received in the first game at the H. A. A. park, were compelled to play with several new men and a crippled lineup. Few injuries were received during the frame, although old-style football was played, the game being rough and hard fought. Hammond made its first and only score in the second quarter when Miller signaled for a drop kick from the 40-yard line. "With an aim true as an arrow the pigskin went sailing between the goal posts, making Miller the hero of the day with the sensational kick. The first half resulted 3 to 0 in Hammond's favor. The third quar-

and within hailing distance of a touch- ' down, but lost the ball. East Chicago's ' line holding like a stone wall. In the fourth quarter Sternberg of East Chicago crowned himself with glory when at a hard angle he made a beautiful i
place kick from the 30-yard line, tying the score at 3 to 3. Hard as they tried neither team was unable to scorn the game endlr.g with East Chicago conceded champions of the Calumet region and Lake county. Henderson and Cole were the ground gainers for Hammond, while Sneddan and Downey did stellar work for East Chicago. The game was called at 2:30 o'clock. Dr. H obbins of Chicago, referee. PHEUHORIA TAKES WHITING H. S. BOY
(Special to The Times.) Whiting. Ind., Nov. 29. Edward Frankowski. IS years old, a senior in the Whiting high schoo, died yesterday, after havirg suffered a week with pneumonia. His birthday was yesterday, and prior to being taken ill, he had planned to have a pleasant time with his friends on the day which would have been a double holiday for him. About a year ago the boy was taken down with typhoid fever and this illness had left him in a weakened
condition. The young man was one of the most popular and brightest stud-
There is nothing new about the idea of using Sage for restoring the
color of the hair. Our grandmothers kept their hair darK. glossy and abundant by the use of a simple "Sage Tea." Whenever their hair fell out or took on a dull, faded or streaked appearance, they made a brew of Sage leaves, and applied it to their hair with wonderfully beneficial effect. Nowadays we don't have to resort to the old-time tiresome method of gathering the herbs and making the tea. This is done by skillful chemists better than we could do it ourselves; and all we have to do is to call for the ready-made product, Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Hair Remedy, containing Sage in the proper strength, with the addition of Sulphur, another old-time scalp remedy. This preparation gives youthful color and beauty to the hair, and is one of the best remedies you can use for dandruff, dry, feverish, itching scalp, and falling hair. Get a fifty cent bottle from your druggist today, and you will be surprised at the quick
results. All druggists sell it, under guarantee that the money will be refunded if the remedy is not exactly as represented. Agent L. Harry
