There was a short business session when matters of interest were discussed. A committee was appointed to arrange the program for the December meeting. Mrs. Thomas Tuley, Mrs. Crave, Mrs. Dixon, Mrs. C. J. P.urke and Mrs. D. Franklin Hlx will serve o:i the committee. trip throuph the southern part of the United States, throuph Cuba, Jamaica, South America, the City of Mexico and the western part of the United States. The trip Is to begin this winter and is to be one of the most extensive that has ever been planned by Hammond people. The party will leave Chicago for Xew Oi leans, from there they will po to Havana. Cuba, thence by rail throuph the entire lenpth of the Island of Cuba to Santtapo, thence by boat to Kingston, Jamaica, thence to Colon, the Atlantic side of the Panama canal, thence across the isthmus to Panama, on the Pacific side, thence to a number of South American ports, thence to the City of Mexico and back to the United States.

At one of the Texas ports Mr. and Mrs. Gostlin will leave for California, w hope they will spend the winter and Mr. and Mrs. Hetz and Mr. and Mrs. Meyn will return to Chioapo. Others in this locality who are contemplating southern or Cuban trips are Mr. and Mrs. .1. S. Iilackmuii. who will po to Florida and thence to Havana; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hohman, who will spend the winter in the south; Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Stinson, who expect to make an extended trip through the south this winter, and Leslie Skinner and a party of s,rven Valparaiso friends who expect to take one of tho Hamburg-American line cruises to Cuba. Jamaica and the Panama canal. Hammond friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Wilson have received cards from Havana, where they have been spending several days, stating that they expect to be back in Hammond today.

The Parent-Teachers' Club cf the Washington school has arranged a series of splendid programs for the meetings of the year 1&12-1913. There was a meeting at the school hall in Williams street last evening which was very largely attended. Between eighty and one hundred members of the club were present at the meeting and were delightfully entertained. The program opened with a piano selection rendered by Mrs. I J. Lyons.
