The Hammond Country club received

the returns over special wire and several hundred of the members had the

advantage of the service there. The returns from the county were phoned from Tns Times office. The Eagles received Times bulletins as well. In half a dozen saloons in the city the returns were received and crowds of men gathered to hear them. There were several hundred people in the Hammond buffet to hear The Times returns: Jimmy Clabby's place was crowded all the time. Jack Walker's place was packed, and Meeker & McCune had a crowd all evening.
