Whiting ,lnd , Nov. 5, The largest political meeting held in Whiting during the present campaign took place at the Whiting skating rink last night, where the republicans held full sway. If the crowd is any criterion Whiting? will go republican. The demonstration began with an auto parade, vhlrty-five in number, which was led by a band, red fire being in abundance. After the parade tho speakers ai.d auditors went to the rink where the meeting was held, the hall being crowded to Its utmost capacity. The leading speakers were Judge Virgil S. Reiter and Peter Crurnpacker, both of Hammond, who gave excellent speeches, telling in a regular heart-to-heart talk what the republican party of today stands for.
