The Round Table met yesterday in
the Commercial club rooms, Indiana Harbor, with a large attendance, tho
meeting being the second held by this
organization this season. After the
transaction of business a fine program was given, Mrs. M. M. Day opening this with a selection upon the piano played in her usual delightfully charming manner. The members respondeel to roll call by naming authors of short stories and Mrs. C. P. Holway gave a talk on the Development of the Short Story, taking her hearers back to the earliest short stories, and carrying them tlown to the present day In which these literary productions have reached the zenith of their popularity. The paper was most Interesting and the subject unusually well handled. Miss Gertrude Collier then real Da Maupassant's famous story, "The Necklace." In a very pleasing manner, after which Mrs. H. C. Rutledge told deliphtfully Hans Chris-Han Anderson's story of the Steadfast Tin Soldier, prefacinp this with a short sketch of the great Scandinavian author's life. A review of the story, "The Revolt of Mother," by Mary E. Wilkins, prepareil by Mrs. Teeparden, who was unable to be present, was read by Mrs. Robert Ansley, provin-t an enjoyable feature r.f the program, which conclude! with a review by Mrs. George. Witt of "A Kentucky Cardinal," most charmingly given. The club elected to membership six women, as follows: Mesdames Hoos, James IVturka, Orf. Monroe Sohock and Whin-man. Mrs. Robert Ansley
was named as delegate to the federation convention to be held at Fort Wayne, Oct. 22. 23 and 24. and Mrs. ('harps; P. Egbert was named as altern a t e.
