The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pfthlke who died on Friday was buriM at Oakhill cemetery in Hammond on Saturday. Mrs. P. J. Murphy and her suert, Mrs. A. E. Des Jardin vls'ted with friends at the Blaekstone betel in Chicago on Friday. Euffene Dexter, the eleven-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dexter, of Atchison avenue, is improving at St. Mara-aret's hospital. About a week ag-o the ad was hit in the eye with a stone thrown by a playmate. It was at first thouarht that the victim would lose the s!ht of both eyes, but that It was certain the injured eye would have to be removed to save the other one. The family have now received very encouraging news to the effect that both eyes may now be saved. It will be known for certain this evening whether or not this can tt done. Arthur V;n Kiwk, of Sheridan avenue is recovering from injuries which he recently received while at work. Rev. and Mrs. John Ropp. of Clark street, have moved into the Nejdl house on Sheridan avenue.

All the. strength and energy in the trees went into that particular apple crop, with the result that littlo or no enerpy was stored for this year's crop. The proper thins to have done last year said Professor Palmer was to ha e restricted the crop, by judicious picking of some of the fruit in its early stages. Mr. Woods this morning expressed his disappointment about the small attendance. "We should have hail several hundred out to see and to hear," he said.
