ily, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey of Sheridan avenue and Mr. and Mrs. Starr Stowell went to Grant Park on Saturday to attend the funeral of Harry Dewey of Whiting. The deceased wr.s a brother of Mrs. Hoskins and Mr. Dewey. He. resided here at 4,17 Sheridan avenue, :. ml was employed in the railroad department of the Standard Oil Co. before being taken 111 with typhoid fever. While recuperating from a three months' illness. Mr. D"wey and familywere visiting with relatives at Grant Park. On Wednesday afternoon while out for a walk, Mr. Dewey was the victim of a paralytic stroke, to which he succumbed a few hours later. The deceased had become well known during his residence. in Whiting, and the sympathy of the community goes out to the reavej family, consisting of his wife, his little son, George, his mother, sister and two brothers, in their hour of trouble, as the news of his death came just as his wife and otter relatives were rejoicing over his near recovery
from his long illness. Mr. and Mrs. I,ew Williams of Cleveland avenue have adopted a 7-year-old daughter. The Tri Kappa Sorority i.tted a neat sum at the Royal theatre on Fridav night, the proceeds to be used for charity. The members of the sorority acted as ushers.
