Prominent Men Are Hailed as Dyer, Indiana, Bandits and Desperadoes
A party of well known Hammond men wore trailed ami stopped by the authorities us the "five men in the black car" who had committed the Dyer robbery yesterday morning. The real bandits escaped, despite the vigilance of police departments and county sheriffs of two counties. The five men in the black car who were taken for desperadoes, and who were the subject of much "kidding" this morning were William Ahlborn, president of the construction company which bears his name: James 1". Rhode, member of the bot.ni o public works; Captain Conra'd Greb, of No. 3 fire station; Charley Newman, Ahiborn's chauffeur, and a man from Chicago by the name of Rosetter, who Is the agent for a steam shovel concern, which is trying to interest Ahlborn in one of their machine?. Their experiences on their trip from Hammond to I.al'orte in Ahlborn's black five-paseriger Mitchell are recorded in two chapters. Hohde Arruwd of Robbery. It was at Glen Park, in the bailiwick
