A very quiet wedding occurred yesterday at- the Homewood residence of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox, 863 South Hohman street when. Miss Mary Nelson was united In marriage ' to Thomas Ralph Tennant. The ceremony was solemnized at half after two o'clock. The marriage service of the Episcopal church was used, the Hev. Charles j Albert Smith of St. Paul's Church offl-j elating'. The immediate relatives were the only quests. Mrs. Tennant wore her going away gown, a three piece
suyit of blue cloth. She wore a tailored ht to corespond.
At one o'clock. Just preceding the ceremony, a luncheon was served"" at which the only guests were members of' the two families. Mr. and Mrs. Tennant left Hammond yesterday afternoon on their wedding trip. They will visit in Milwaukee, Oronomwuc and Delevan Lake, Wise. They will he absent from Hammond a week or ten days. Their "at home" cards read after October fifteenth at 85 Carroll street. Mrs Tennant is the daughter of Mrs. Lawrence Cox. She Is one of Hammond's charming girls and very prominent in the younger society set. She is a member of the Women's Auxiliary to the Vnlversity Club and also of the Jnter Se Club, a club composed of Hammond young women', She attended the Hammond high school and laer studied at St. Mary's Academy at South Bend, Ind. Mr. Tennant is employed as a chemist in the offices of the HlrschSteln Company. CELEIIItATES AT.' XI VERS A BY. Little William Golding celebrated his seventh birthday anniversary last evening by entertaining ' number of his friends at a lawn party at hia home In Russell street. He received s. number of pretty gifts from friends in remembrance of the day. The lawn was decorated very attractively with Japanese lanterns. The dead woman's family, who live at Crystal Lake, 111., were said to be wealthy. They own land near Gary, and have a summer home at Fox Lake.

Loses an Arm. ;
John Kotus, S3 years old. of St. Charles. 111., had his arm cut off by a Lake Shore train last night. It Is said, that Kotus tried to board a train after It was moving and that the conductor pushed him off. He tried to board another coach, and falling, he was injured. NEGRO SLAYER TO GRAND JURY The Gary police have decided to hold Tom Raymond, or Regan, to the grand jury. He is locked up at police headquarters for killing Ira Jenkins and wounding Robert Strociers. Chief Martin has been subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury next Tuesday and Wednesday. In all there are four Gary slayers who will be examined by the grand jury.
