A very delightful meeting of the "600" club was held yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Thomas Shea In Indiana avenue. It was the afternoon for the regular bi-monthly meeting and the social program of the club
was followed. The members devoted the afternoon to card and ten games of "600" were played. The games progressed at, two tfcblea. High score was made by Mrs. A. F. Knotts and prizes were also won by Mrs. G. H. Clover and Mrs. Fred Kralowetz. Dainty refreshments were served after the games. In two weeks on Friday afternon, Septem
ber 13th the members will be entertain ed by Mrs. A. F. Knotts at her home In Muenlch Court. A COMMITTEE MEETIXG. ' The meeting was postponed indefinitely on account of the absence of the president and other members of the society who are spending the summer out of the city. A SKATING PARTY.
A number of Hammond young people
spent an enjoyable few hours at the
roller skating party given by the Gold
en Rule class in the basement of the
First Christian church In Calumet avenue last evening. There were' not enough skates for all who attended so
a second party will be given Monday evening and the friends of the class members are cordially Invited. Thirty
pairs of skates were purchased today
for use at these parties. The proceeds
will be used for the benefit of the
church.
AN AFTERNOON PARTY.
Mrs. J. Arthur Davis was hostess to
the members of the Maywood Culture
Club at her home In Ada street yester
day afternoon. It was their first meet
ing arter the summer vacatien and a
number of the members were present.
Mrs. Davis had as her invited, guests.
Mrs. R. A. Hlckey of Chicago: Miss Mae
Ford of Michigan; Mrs. A. E. Ehret and
the Misses Alice and Helen Ford. The
hostess had three contests for the en
tertainment oi her guests and gave three prises In each contest. The prize winners were Mrs. Lynch, Mrs. Ludwisr.
