In the Chicago market premiums of $3 to $10 a ton are being paid on plates, structurals and shapes for "piompt" delivery, which now means delivery within several months .and In more urgent cases the premiums are going to jobbers who can make better deliveries. There are a large number of contracts calling for heavy tonnages of structural steel pending all over the country. Exports of Iron and steel for the month of June, as shown by the advanec sheets from the monthly summary of commerce and finance of the Department of Commerce and Labor, were $21,795,803, as compared with $20,. 310,033. and imports for (he month were $2,454,694, as compared with $2,777,718

A quarter of a million dollars worth of new buildings are being erected In the' east side of Broadway between Fourth and Sixth avenues this summer. Gary's FIrwt "Skyscraper." The most imposing structure under way is the new Moe theatre, which is to be five stories in height. It will cost $100,000 and will house besides offices and storerooms a modern playhouse seating 1200 people.
