Reckless Drivers Should

Halt While Street Cars , Unload Passengers.

Recklessness on the part of an

autoist and the failure of Gary to have an ordinance compelling autoists to

run at slow speed when a street car Is stopping to let off passengers resulted in Injuries to J. V. Barnett, a bicyclist, at Fifth avenue and Broadway this

morning.

A Fatality Averted. A machine owned by the Taul Feuer of the Feuer Drug company, the driver whose name the police did not obtain, was coming east on Fifth avenue while a street car was coming north on Broadway. Witnesses say that the auto driver sought to cros Broadway in advance of the coming car. The crossing was mad but no heed was taken of bicyclists or pedestrians who would be obscured from sight by the car. A a result the auto struck the cyclist and demolished his wheel. The police are formulating addi

tional traffic rule and It is understood that warrants will be issued for several doctors who bave been doing some break-neck speeding.
