A very enjoyable meeting of the China Club took place last evening At the home of Mrs. Peter Halfman in Michigan avenue Pedro was played progressively at three tables. After several games the honors Were awarded to Mrs.-Joseph Miller and Mr. Henry Heiser. The hostess prise was retained by Mrs. Halfman. A prettily appointed luncheon was served at the conclusion of the card games. The rerefreshments were served in two courses. Mrs. Fred Humpher was named as the next hostess and she will entertain the members at her home in Rlmbach avenue on the evening of August 13th. A CHIRCH SERVICE. S The First Presbytefiah church will have its last prayer meeting of the summer this evening at 7:45 o'clock, the service will be conducted by the ;Rev. A. W. Hoffman. AN ICK CREAM SOCIAL. There was a meeting of Goldeen Rule Council No. I, D. of U, last evening, in the K. of P. hall, in South Hohman street. A social hour was enjoyed following the regular lodge session. A short literary and musical program was given, after which refreshments were served. Many members were in attendance at the meeting , and there were several visitors from Triumph Council No. 11, D. of L., of Hammond. The next meeting will occur In two weeks on Tuesday evening, Aug. 13th. and the usual business and social program will be followed. It is desired that many members attend. MUSICAL COMEDY AT THE ORPHEUM Starting Thursday matinee the Orpheum will offer Boyle Woolf oik's new musical play "Who's Little Girl Are Tour with Wm. B. Morris and Grace Thurston. The above announcement is enough to guarantee the best there is In vaudeville, for Mr. Woolfolk has given us "A Winning Miss" and the "Sunny Side of Broadway" with Max Bloom and his funny horse. His latest effort is said to be in the class with his previous efforts and the cast Is without doubt the best any of musical plays in vaudeville being headed by Mr. Wm. B. Morris and Miss Grace Thurston who have starred In their own companies for the last number of years. "Who's Little Girls Are Tour Is a farce and a real farce, One that makes you laugh from overture to finale. During this melange of lrreslstable fun are interpolated some of the catchiest songs and specialties that could be obtained. The cast Is the most expensive playing the vaudeville time in a musical production. The company is comprised of seventeen people Including the eight prettiest girls extant. A feature of the performance is the Texas Tommy dance done by Miss Thurston & Mr. Ackerllnd. It Is a re plica of the famous Barbary Coast dance as Interpreted by Mr. David Sterling the acknowledged peer of that style of dancing and who was once Miss Thurston's dancing partner. TOLLESTON.
