Now comes the cross-complainant.
Indiana Trust & Savings Bank, by J.
A. Patterson, attorney, and - files its cross-complaint herein, together with
an affidavit of a competent person
Showing that the defendants, Margaret Baggott, Frank W. Simons. McNeil and
Higgins Company, a corporation, are
not residents of the State of Indiana.
Said defendants are therefore hereby notified of the pendency of said action and that the same will stand for trial at the next term of said Court, and

be begun and Held In the , Superior
Court Building, room 2, at Hammond, in said County and State, on the second Monday of September, A. D. 1912, said action will be heard and deter

In Witness Whereof, I hereunto set my hand and affix the seal of said Court, at Hammond, this 17th day of June, A. D. 1912. ERNEST L. SHORTRIDGE. Clerk L. S. C. By Mae Hanson, Deputy Clerk.
The second entertainment given by the East Chicago Dramatic club since its organization, took place last night
1,650 at Berry's theatre, and proved a splen
did success both from a standpoint of art and finance By 7:80 o'clock the theatre was filled to overflowing and it became the duty .of the man at the
door to turn away the overflow.
The first performance given by the club was a creditable one, but last niirht's nrodurtlnn far outclassed Its
Bradford . 1.400 predecessor In merit Every one who
took part showed marked Improve
ment and the play was such a hit that
a Hammond organization has asked for
its reproduction at the Orpheum thea
tre In that city. The request has been
taken under advisement
The play was the "Girl Miner" and
Miss Margaret Artibey had the leading
woman's part. This called for masculine attire which became Miss Artibey
admirably and she made a most at
tractive Girl Miner. . Harry C. Reed as hero was the stellar light. His costumes were varied and his make up in
every case, excellent His lnterpreta tion of the part would have done a pro
fessional credit Charles Hoople "mine
Host" contributed his share of merit to
the play, the bar scene In which he
figured being . especially good. Lester Cherry shone in the unpopular role of
villain. Those who had the minor
parts all M unusually well. Will Give More la Future.
Unlike most amateur performances, this one was characterised by short
waits between the acts. The club had
its own scenery and knew how to dla
pose of It and make the necessary changes in short order, and this was a most welcome surprise as amateur performances are generally notorious for tedious waits. Stirling's band with Charlie McKelvey at the piano, outdid itself In the
quality of music furnished, and proved an attractive feature of the performance. , Charles Hoope Is president of the East Chicago Dramatic Club and the manager director Is Roy E. Ayers. It is the Intention to give something even more ambitious than the production of

Concentration All Important
An eight-inch advertisement in one newspaper will bring much bigger results than a two-inch advertisement in four newspapers. Don't skip around from one newspaper to another. Success in advertising comes from hammering away at the same crowd. , Pick out the newspaper which has the kind of readers you want for customers, and then stick. If you want to make an advertisement hit all you need to do is to talk to the reader of the newspaper as you talk across the counter the counter to a customer. Simply talk. That's all. Be sincere about it. Let your words ring true. The people will listen. They like it. The fact that your advertisement appears continuouslv in a reputable newspaper stimulate public confidence. Your shop advances step by step In the estimation of thousands of people who may be months in getting around to make their first purchase.
