MARRIED IN CHICAGO. Miss Bessie O'Malley and Walter O'Brien were marrlade In Chicago Wednesday, June 12th It was a very quiet ceremony. The bride wore a tailored suit of gray whip cord and a hat to correspond. She carried a bouquet of white and pink roses. They will make their home with the bride's parents at 122 Sibley street. Mrs. O'Brien is the oldest daughter of Mrs. Lyon. Mr. O'Brien came to Hammond from New York and Is employed by the I. H. Bull' also won honors and the consolation prize was awarded to Mrs. Frank Grove. After the games the guests were delightfully entertained with music. Mrs. Kdward Murden, Mrs. O. G. Routsong and Mrs. Wolf gave the program and every number was thoroughly enjoyed. A prettily appointed two course luncheon was served at five o'clock. The tables were decorated with flowers and pretty greenery and haind decorated place cards mere laid for twelve guests. The member will meet again In two weeks at the home of Mrs. Edward Murden, 487 150th street.
MRS. H OFF-MAN ENTERTAINS. Yesterday afternoon a very pleasant;
meeting of Sewing Circle No. 1 of Ft. Margaret's hospital took place at. the home of Mrs. Ida Hoffman In Indiana avenue. The members played pedro during the afternoon and the game progressed at several tables. Mrs. Otto Knoeraer won the first honors and the second' prize was won by Mrs. Joseph Knoerser., The consolation prize was awarded to Mrs. Caroline Dibos. Dainty refreshments were served at the consolation of the games. The next afternoon party will be given, by Mrs. Joseph Knoerzer and she invites the members to meet with her Thursday, June 27th at her home In Clinton street. CLl'B MEMBERS MEET. Mrs. E. Dllta entertained a few friends at cards yesterday afternoon at her home In Michigan avenue. Her guests were the members of the Golden Rod Club who met for their regular bi-monthly social meeting. It was only the second meeting after the re. organization of the club. The members spent the afternoon very enjoyab-
ly at the card tables. After several games of pedro the honors were

The members of the alumni association of All Saint's Catholic school met in the school hall in East Sibley street last evening and elected officers. It was the regular bi-monthly club meeting and a number of members met and spent the evening very enjoyably. Bridge whist was the diversion and the guests played at nine tables. .High scores were made by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox. They were
awarded very pretty honors. After the card games refreshments were served. At the next meeting Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnson and Mr. and Mra. Richard Winckler will be hosts and hostesses. HONOR MISS SCHAAF. Miss Schaaf. one of the JUne bride's was the honor guest at a party given by a number of teachers In the kindergarten room of the Tolleston school yesterday afternoon. She received many very pretty gifts in honor of her approaching marriage. A prettily appointed luncheon was served after games and music had been enjoyed for a few hours. About two hundred people were de
lightfully entertained In the audi
torium of the First Presbyterian church in South Hohman street last
evening when Ruth Elizabeth Webster
gave her annual recital. The entertainment was most enjoyable. Miss
Webster who Is a talented reader, was assisted with the program by Miss Lulu Wiegner of North Judson, Ind., Mrs. Jane E. Lohrman of Elkhart. Ind., Claude V. Humphreys and Webb Evans of Chicago. Mrs. Lohrman has a beautiful soprano voice and Bhe was heard In several solos. Miss Wiegner played a very pretty piano selection. The violin selection by Mr. Humphreys was one of the attractive numbers. His piano accompaniment was played by Mr. Evans. Miss Webster has given programs at several entertainments and is a favorite with Hammond audiences. The church was beautifully decorated for the evening with masses of palms, ferns, pink kllarney roses and marguerites.
