BODICE DEVELOPED IN WHITE CHALLIE
A SIRPRISK PARTV. A number of young people met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Wolf In East State street and Rave a surprisa party In honor of Fred Wolf. The pary was given to celebrate ' his birthday anniversary ad he received many pretty gifts in remembrance of the day.
The evening was spent very enjoyably with games, contests and music after which a luncheon was served. The quests were the Misses Ruth Wafceoblast, Mabel and Mary Iinwiddie, Helen Morton, Grace and Elsie Stolley, Jung, Martha llerker, Mae and Minnie Hartman and Messrs. Albert Schneider, Arthur Thon, Oscar Knoth, J. Winters, Orle Herehberger, Fred and Leslie Wolf, Walter Robinson, Smith and Joe Iubb. ENTERTAINS CLASS FRIENDS. them at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Brunt, 23 Mason street. Mrs. Etta Bloomhoff was invited to meet with the young people and she entertained them pleasantly with stories. Games and music were other features of the afternoon until five o'clock when a dainty luncheon was served. A5T Al'TOMOBILE TRIP. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dibos left on their wedding trip yesterday. , They .will tour through Indiana and Kentucky and expect to be gone several weeks. On their return to Hammond they will be at home to their friends at Hi Russell street. "Bouxer Movement" which is taken up In the last chapter of their study book on China. Miss Edythe McConnell presided during the business hour. Plans were made for the annual picnic which will take place some' time in July. During the social hour several of the members entertained with vocal and instrumental selections and the time was passed very enjoyably. Dainty refreshments were served. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Members of the alumni association. of the Hammond high school met in the kindergarten room of the Central building last evening at eight o'clock for a short business session. . Tho chairmen " of the various committees gave their reports of the banquet
which was given last Friday evening and the business affairs for this year

Last of Eight Sisters' to Wed Will Marry Clarence Lowell.
Leading with 200 points In the Moose carnival beauty contest. Miss Rose Boose, 729 Walter street, will forsake
the honor of winning to be married tamorrow to Clarence LOwell, a Hammond boy. A marriage license was obtained yesterday at Crown Point and
the wedding is to take place In the
morning at the Lowell home.
Miss Boose is the last to marry of a family of eight girls. She was formerly employed at the Conkey plant as as
sistant cashier. She Is 18 years of age and her fiance 21. . He Is an employe of the Hammond distillery.
Out of a. family of eight girls none are left at the renidence of the parents. Boose is employed by the city, but his chief work has been the raising of two quartets of young ladies who all married Hammond men and are living here at present. ? A family reunion In the Boose family is more In the line of a convention. Miss Boose would not consider putting oft her wedding in order to win the contest. Although appreciative of the honor her friends are conferring upon her she was determined. "Some one else more worthy will do just as well," she said.
