A MISCELI.AEOl S SHOWER. Miss Margaret Weiss entertained at a miscellaneous shower Thursday evening at the home of Miss Grace Lawrence whose marriage to Mr. Arthur Puntney will take place June 16. Refreshments were served and music aryl games were also a feature

of the evening:. Among the gnmes played was a bean contest in which three prizes were awarded. The first prize was won by Miss Mabel Hartman and Miss Birdie Malo won the second prize. The consolation prize was awarded to Miss Ida Reingold. Miss Lawrence received many very pretty and useful gifts from friends. Among the guests were Mrs. George Rimbach, Mrs. Lewrence, Mrs. Weiss, the. Misses Mabel Hartman. of South Chicago, Frances Dryer, Katie Stevens. Mary Hafner, Ida Reingold. Miss Hannah Gruszka was the honor guest at a very pretty party given by Mrs. Martin Flnneran last Thursday evening at her home, 156 Wentworth avenue. Mrs. Finneran entertained at a linen shower in honor of Miss tlruszka whose marriage to Morton Chandler will be solemnized Tuesday, June 25th. Tennis courts on the grounds of the Country Club were given a first trial by Miss Mildred McHie and Margaret Turner, two Homewood girls who are home on yacation ffom Kemper Hall a finishing school at Kenosha, Wis. Nets were placed on one of the courts yesterday and a game of singles started. Miss ?IcHie and Miss Turner found the ground to be fast and take no little pride in the fact that they have the honor to have played In the court3 first.

Trespasser Fined. The case of the state Of Indiana vs. Charles Strom was tried before Judge Ames this morning and upon being found guilty Strom was fined 1 and

costs, amounting to $15.70. Mrs. Stone-
