when it is not convenient to hang them out of doors, is to wash them and then let them soak overnight In water in which a little cream of tartar has been dissolved. A large baking pan placed upside down over the irons causes them to heat quickly and to retain the heat over a low fire. To clean silver put a quantity of sour milk in a shallow pan and place the articles in the milk, letting them remain there till they become bright. Afterward wash them in warm water which contains, a few drops of ammonia, and' your silver will be bright and clean.
