A dinner was served In the dirtlncr moment on o'clock. The table was beautifully appointed in pink anj white. Roses and varnatlons decorated both the dining? room and parlors. The afternoon was paused very enjoyably with music and frames. At five o'clock a three; course supper was sprved. Covers were laid for forty eicht. The marriage of Miss Marie Burke and William Llesenfelt will be solemnized Tuesday morning at eight o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church in East Chicago. Mr. : Liesenfelt is the eon of Mr. and Mrs. P. Llesenfelt of State Line street. He ia one of Hammond's prominent young men and has a circle of friends here who will extend him their best wishes and congratulations. A LAWS SOCIAL. The young people- of Mrs. George Sliger's class of the Christian Sunday school gave a lawn social last Saturday at the home of Mrs.- Merrill in Murray street. Ice cream and cake were served at small tables on the lawn.. Japanese lanterns were used for lighting. There were many guests during both the afternoon and evening and a nice amount was realized which will be used for the benefit of the church. This was one of the first social affairs at which these young people will be hostesses this summer and

in Hammond yasteftday. She came to Hammond under the auspices of the local AV. C. T. t. and lectured at the

A special car has been chartered and round trip tickets will be sold for $1.40. Delegates from every council in the state will be present. A meeting of the members of Dorcas Rebeckah Lodge took place last Saturday evening In I. O. O. F. Hall In State street. It was the regular weekly meeting and the usual number of members attended. .
