to be on your car without carfare would

you throw him off face downward in

John Glennon, the proprietor of the Majestic Hotel in Hammond was mad. There is no mistake about" it. The idea that any one would have the nerve to forge a permit for the use of his car and then take it out and smash it up in a collision with a street car was positively the limit. And the proprietor of the Fayette street garage came in for his share of the abuse. "You ought to know better than to let a man have my car without my personal permission. What kind of dubs are you any way." "Well." retorted Kunert, "the fellow came in here with a note written on Majestic Hotel stationery which read, 'Let Mr. have my car this afternoon," and what could I do. I don't know your hand writing." The more Glennon examined the cir the madder he got. The fender was bent, the axle was broken, the wheels were smashed and the car was a sorry sight. Wants Police Aid. "What did the fellow look like," said Glennon. "I'm going to call up tne police. . "I'll tell them to come right over,-' said Kunert. But the line was busy.
