HOMIR MISS MALO. Miss Klizabeth Malo was the honor puest at a very pretty party given by Jlrs. Gertrude Halsey and Miss Ruth Washington last evening at the home of Miss Washington In Ogden street. They entertained at a miscellaneom shower in honor of Miss Malo whoso encasement was announced recently. Miss Malo's marriage to George Rimach will be a ceremony of next Wednesday. She received many very pretty gifts from friends. The evenlngr was spent delightfully with games and music. A two course luncheon was served at ten o'clock. The home waa decorated with a profusion of spring blossoms and a color scheme of pink and white was carried out in th1? table decoration. Among the guests were Mrs. James A. home In Williams street last evening when the members of the Amona and Agogga classes of the First Baptist church met with them to celebrate their fifteenth wedding anniversary. The gift from the two classes was a beautiful cut crystal water- set. Mr. and Mrs. Adams received many pretty glfts from friends in remembrance of the day. Mr. F. A. Stakemiller, superintenwent of the Sunday school made
a short presentation speech and both Mr. and Mrs. Adams responded reviewing the pleasant time spuent in Hammond. Mrs. Horton played a pretty violin solo and there was a vocal duett by Mrs. Wesley Bashore and Mrs. Charles Gruen. The two ' numbers were thoroughly enjoyed. After thel
program there were contests and various games. A glass fruit bowl was awarded Mr. Adams, who was the winner in the word contest. In -the drawing contest 'Mr. Dowdell won the honors. "Untying Knots" was a contest in which only the men competed and Mr. J. U. Jones won the honors. A dainty two course luncheon' was served after the games. There were tiftyseven class members in attendance during the evening.

ENTERTAINS WITH CARDS. Pedro was played progressively by the members of the ' Fleurdelis Club who were Invited to meet with Mrs. Smith at her home in Sibley street last evening. The game progressed at three tables. Mrs. Charles Luthman won the first honors and prizes were also won by Mrs. Fred Kraiowetz and Mrs. Smith. The consolation prize was awarded to Mtb. H. O. Young. They will meet at the South Shore lnterurban station and take the 9:38 car. Representatives will be present from every Temple in the district. Hebron, Morocco, Chesterton, Westville, Rensselaer, Brook, Whiting. Lowell, Michigan City, Laporte and Hammond Temples will he represented at the

Roy Warren Better. Roy Warm, who has been at St Margaret's hospital In a critical condition for the past two months as a result of a bullet wound in his leg, is reported gradually recovering this morning and the attending physicians and his many friends are expecting a speedy recovery.. At times his condition was critical and slight hopes ware given for his recovery, as gangrene set in on account of the loss of blood supply in his leg and It was found necessary to amputate his foot above the ankle. The gangrene gradually worked higher up, but It Is now thought that they will be able to save the rest of his leg.
