The jury in the case of the National
Cash Register company vs. Marcovich now has the case and a verdict is ex
pected this afternoon. The ease is in which Wolf Marcovich tought a
tional cash register and then canceled his. order when the agent of another
company sold him another machine.
The company Is attempting to force Marcovich to pay for the machine that
was sold to him to teach him that con
tracts must be respected. The case has
been hard fought all the way through.
The case was tried before Judge Jo

Opens Grocery.
V. K. Fenton today opened a neigh
borhood grocery, corner Sibley and Wood streets, having bought out the business formerly conducted by Mrs. Emma Hoist. The store has been renovated and an effort will be made by the
new proprietor to cater to the wants of his customers.
Another Market.
E. M. Lauerman, successor to Henry Roennau, today opened a general store and market at 839 Calumet avenue. Mr. Lauerman has been In the grocery business for manyyears and assures his patrons of first class service.
Another Explosion. Residents of Hammond, Whiting, East Chicago and Indiana Harbor were again awakened early this morning and other shocks were felt about 7:30 o'clock as the result of dumping molten slag in the lake at Indiana Harbor. The Jar which was felt in the above named cities resembles an earthquake to some extent, and again caused the breaking of a number of windows in Indiana Harbor.

Club of America sent a message that Lincoln, Neb., had put up 'the necessary 910,000 to become a control or stopping place - for aeroplanes in the great American grand circuit aeroplane race planned for September. The Wright situation Is being worked out in New York. Already an agreement has been made by the Wrights that they will not Interfere with the world's championship Gordon Bennett race, provided no admission is charged. A meeting will be held tomorrow at the clubrooms in the Auditorium hotel, at which a decision Is expected in the selection of a site for the Gordon Bennett race, which must take place over a course fit for an automobile race, aroand a "track" of 3.1 miles.
