Happenings of a Day in Lake County's Lively Capital
SHUCKS From the Diary of SL Leno Jeb Tite sez his idea o' a purty tired old lap is th one thet winter hez bin a-lingerln" In this year. The republican convention on Satur- I clay failed to materialize any surprises, and was notable only In the? fact that It was the first time in the i history of republican politics in Lake ' county that the primaries settled the J selection or me enure ucnet outsiue of the convention. Some apprehension is felt on account of the extraordinarily Hght vote cast at the primaries on Friday and it behooves every republican to put his shoulder to the wheel if the party band wagon is to be pushed to victory this coming fall. No laydown or let-up is to he thought of if the party Is successful this fall. Fashionable Women No Longer Select Corsets by Waist Measurement The present styles require the whole figure to be molded to the correct lines and not merely here and there. . To wear the new. clinging gowns, your corset should be designed for your individual figure; not your neighbor's figure, though your waist measure may be the same. Parisian a Corsets Are made according to this new method of fitting the whole figure. It is really wonderful what a difference the right Parisiana model will make in you appearance. Your mirror will reveal to you how this corset will mold your whole figure to the slender graceful lines without strain or pressure anywhere. These wonderful shaping corsets are not 'high in price $1.00, $1.50, $2.00, $3.00 and $5.00; imported silk fabrics cost more. Will you call and have a Parisiana sent out for you to try on? No obligations to keep the corset unless you want to. Why not come in to-day?

It Is said that there was the lightest vote cast at the primaries Friday ever known in Cedar Creek township, the vote being only 90. No one seemed to care one way or another who re ceived the nomination for county of ficers, and when the comment was expressed, all being satisfied. It is freely predicted that there is going to be a big republican slump during the registration. There seems to be an apathy and Indifference among republicans in this vicinity. Considerable dissatisfaction on national affairs Is expressed, and unless some clever work and convincing argument is not done the old-time 800 to 1,000 republican majority from the three creek town ships may not loom up to carry the ticket in Lake county to vletory.
