ENTERTAINMENT WAS A SVCCESS. A little play entitled "The Village Postofflce" was given last evening in

the parlors of the First Congregational church in Gostlin street by the young people of the church. It was a little comedy and forty-two characters were represented in the play. The program they gave was very enjoyable. The large audience was delightfully entertained for two hours or more. The church was crowded with members of the congregation and their friends. Many came from out of town. A nice

amount was cleared which will be used for the benefit of the church. The entertainment was one of the best that has been given in Hammond this year and their have been many requests to have It repeated In the near future for those who found it Impossible to attend last evening. The exact date has not been decided upon.

The Parents Clubs of several of the Hammond schools are having meetings today. Tho meetings of the Irving -and Washington Parents' Club which were announced for last Friday had to bo postponed until today on account of the storm. They have excellent programs prepared.
