coeded in spite of the blizzard. The evangelist deferred his sermon announced to help skeptics and took for his theme the rich young ruler to whom it was said, "One Thing Thou Lackest." The speaker declared that many of the most correct people morally have their difficulty with just one thing. With them the keeping of nine commandments is easy, but it is the truth that brings defeat. Many people have noble traits enough tomake them honored, but at one point break down. The thing that masters them may be money or appetite on fame or pleasure, but lacking power against this one thing the result is fatal. The young ruler would not sacrifice his wealth for fellowship with God. He lost all. The evangelist insisted that no life can be truly Christian until the last opposing

New Orpheum Show.
Where thrills and sensation held the audiences the first half week, laughs and lots of them are promised for the remainder of the week at the Orpheum. It is the assertion of the booking agents that every one of the four va
riety features is designed for laughing purposes only. . . I Lewis & Green is a nondescript sketch called "Engaging a Cook" and is the most prominent of the several features. One of the main reasons for giving vent to levity is the "drop" with many unique signs that forms no small portion of their entertainment. The Pelots have an act that Is a conglomeration of juggling and comedy, with the emphasis on the latter. One of their stunts Is the attempt to catch an apple thrown from the audience held on a fork in one of the performer's mouths. Fitch Cooper, "the musical rube," Is another of the entertainers. Fitch comes with a fine reputation from other cities. The Wassmans have a "trunk mystery" and several other stunts of like nature. Comedy forms a portion of their offering1. Several reels of new pictures will be shown.
