A pretty party was held at Central Music hall last evening, the affair being a leap year roller skating party
given by several Crown Point young ladles. It was conducted on leap year principles all the way through, but no report has leaked as yet whether there was any proposing done by those having th privilege for the first time in years, last night.
It is reported that Mr. and Mrs. Washburn may build a modern dwelling on the Sherman property recently purchased by them. If the plans materialize a tenant has already spoken for the home at an advanced rental. Many Crown I'oint people" are visiting the clay products exhibit being held at the Coliseum in Chicago today. Sam Smith has started a cottage for Mrs. Cottrill on the corner of Sherman and Farragut streets. Bloodhounds have been put on the trail of two men who robbed a slaugh
ter house north of Bloomington. The
dogs followed the trail of the robbers to a road where It was seen that they
had entered a buggy. A broken tire on the vehicle is likely to lead to an arrest. A large hog and three cowhides were carried away by the robbers. DID TVOT LIKE TO WORK. The Tippecanoe County Jail at Lafayette did not hold a single prisoner
last night, the first time In thirty years. Heretofore the Jail was held from ten to twenty habitual offenders during the winter, but this year the city chaingang was organised, and the old-timers, who used to go to Jail regularly in cold weather to get free board without work, have no liking for the work without pay. They all have Jobs now and are not allowing themselves to fall into the hands of the police.
