CELEBRATES ASXIVEBSARV. A delightful party was given as a ; surprise to 'Mrs. Martha Beck with at her home, 368 Plummer avenue Thursday evening-, February 29th. The party -was given to celebrate her birthday anniversary and she received many gifts from friends in remembrance of the day. The evening was passed very enjoyably with games and music until ten o'clock when the guests were invited Into the dining room and served with an elaborate supper. The tabl ,was prettily appointed in pink and white. A birthday cake decorated with lighted candles was chosen as a center piece for the table. Covers were laid for twenty-flve. AX EXTEBT.V1 JIET. the Riverside school expect that when: a final report of the sale of tickets for the entertainment last evening is made that thirty or thirty-five dollars will have been cleared. The proceeds will: be used to purchase school room dccorations and for the phonograph fund.'

Mrs. Flannlgan will entertain the members at her home, 240 Sheffield avenue, on the afternoon of April 5th. The remainder of the afternoon was devoted to needle work. At four o'clock the guests were Invited into the dining room and served with a daintily arranged two course luncheon. The table was beautifully appointed in green and white. In honor of St. Patrick's Day which will be observed March 17th. Green crepe paper decorated the chandeliers and was festooned to the corners of the room. Prettily decorated place cards were laid for the several guests and shamrocks were given as favors in the dining room. The meeting yesterday was one of the most enjoyable of the sorles arranged for the winter.

As the guests arrived they were given little bouquets of flowers and those having duplicate bouquets were partners at dinner. The dinner which was in seven courses was served progressively at small tables in the dining and living rooms. Following the dinner the guests were entertained with

Another of the season's many striking fads Is to put your sweetheart's photograph on one of the fingernails of the left band. , The fashionable manicures have taken up this Idea, their work being to render the photograph waterproof by coating It over with a shellac-like substance burnished upon the nail. It is said that with careful handling a photograph so mounted will last four months without renewal.
