AS EXJOVABLH MEETING. The girls of the Nu Tan Beta Club were pleasantly entertained by Miss Laura Hess at her home. 41 Mason street last evening. Games and music were features of entertainment during the evening until ten o'clock when a daintily arranged two course luncheon was served. In two weeks on Friday 'evening, March 8th Miss Edythe McConnell will be hostess and entertain the members of the club at her home In Doty street. The social proaram of the club will be followed. Christian Sunday school occurred last evening at the home of Miss Verta 1 Sheffield In May street. The early part of the evening; was devoted to . the transaction of business. The plans were not definitely made for the March meeting but announcement of It w'lll be made later. Games and music were features of the social hour. In the guessing contest the honors were won by Miss Esther Allen. The prise was a beautiful hand painted hat pin holder. SMOKER AT CLUB
MONDAY NIGHT There will be a big- smoker at the rooms of the University club next Monday night. There are a number of Interests which should make this affair an interesting one. It Is believed that the final games In the billiard tournament will have been played pff by that time. It Is also proposed to organize the
pool tournament by that time and get the games started. The Interest In the billiard tournament Is waxing- keen,1 and while Wicks seems to have first
place cinched there is a lively scramble for second place. On next Thursday the entertainment committee, of 'which John W. Morth-land-is chairman, has decided to make the card party a very nice affair. This
is being done In view of the fact that this Is the last of these entertainments that will be given by the present committee. On the following Tuesday the club will hold Its annual election of officers. This will a$o be made the occasion of a smoker and a general good time. The smoker that will be given on this occasion will be one of the nice affairs of the year. There will probably be no more dancing parties until after Ient.

Swears Out Warrant. Mat Malcovich appeared before Judge Prest yesterday ;mornlng and swore out a warrant for the arrest of Evan Christimas of Gibson on a charge of surety of the peace. Constable Huber cafised his arrest yesterday afternoon and he was placed under a $100 bond for his appearance at trial Monday.
