enjoyed by the audience, some of the musical numbers being a revelation to those present, who were unaware that the Boy Scout's education was develop
ed along musical lines. Each number! on the long program was generously applauded, time and space prohibiting! dwelling on each selection separately. J The talk on Wncoln by Attorney Frank ( B. Pattee was a fitting tribute to the beloved statesman, he holding Lincoln as an ideal for emulation by the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Pattee spoke on the qualities of character most to be desired and sought after by the scouts and bis splendid address abounded in good teaching and examples that should blaze the trail along the life ; path of each Boy Scout. Rev. Stock-: berger closed the exercises with a few j well-chosen words, asking for the sup- , port and assistance of Crown Point citizens In the development of the Boy Scout movement, to the end that suitable quarters be secured for the scouts In the future. Two miniature aero planes, faithful models of the famous i Bleirot monoplane, the handiwork of John Claude Allman and Dallas Wise, respectively, were on exhibition. Both models are a work of art and capable of flight with the proper propelling power. They were the object of much admiration and an example of mechanical skill to which each Boy Scout aspires. : Refreshments were served by ' the Scouts to the guests, after the exercise and the evening was responsible fof fostering and cultivating more than a favorable opinion of the Boy Scouts and the movement and principles for which they stand. Mr. Ray explained that it was not his desire that the city should be brought into the work for the purpose of collecting bills, but rather to protect the company against any damage from leaky pipes, which would flood the streets if thawed out. Some pipes burst while frozen, and when the water is" thawed, the pavements will be ruined. To this the board answered that the house connections were private . property, and the property owner is i responsible for any damage that might j result to the street, and that under the circumstances it could not be made , a party to the proposition.
