Home talent selected from the East Chicago and the Hammond lodges of Modern Woodmen furnished Una entertainment at the Hammond theater last night, under the auspices of Eureka lodge, of Hammond. With the exception of two, Messrs. H. Urbans and Attorney Edward Schottler, who are of Hammond, all the playera In "The Forged Certificate" were East Chicagoans, and they were well received by a good sized audience which was mads up principally by Hammond people. There waa however a goodly East Chicago representation In the audience. "The Forged Certificate" Is a comedy drama in four acts, and the applause it received Indicated that the amateur
support, the stars could not have shone one the way they did. " ' Specialties a Great Hit. Th between act specialties made a great hit. Photoplays Resumed.
I he Hammond theater will, commencing tonight, resume the giving of three fjhotoplays and for tonight's bill will have a complete comedy showing, presenting "Just a Bad Kid,", "A Friend to the Children" and "The Man With
the Puppets." It will be the policy of
Manager Kingwill to make his photo
plays practically a comedy show although he will at various times introduce scenic and topical subjects with not over one drama per night. We believe this arrangement will appeal to the lovers of motion pictures, who rec
ognize that tTie best photoplays are given at this theater, with its large capacity and splendid ventilation. Mr. William Binnle, who has been making a hit with popular and classical songs, will continue as soloist, often appearing in costume, a feature which is always being appreciated. The, usual charge of five cenis will prevail.
