A LEAP YEAR DASCE. One of the most delightful of the season's parties was a leap year dance
trlvett by the members of the loung Indies" Club last evening !n Weis Hall in State street. It -was the first tn a cries of entertainments at which these young people will be hostesses during ieap year, the next to be a shirt waist party. The exact date for the party has not ben decided. There were between sixty and seventy guests who arrived at the hall between eight-thirty and nin o'clock and enjoyed the hospitality of the club members. Miss Maymo Rafcen and Miss Arlelgh Telche wera the committee on arrangements and the success of the party is largely due to them. The hall was beautifully decorated In rd and white. The lights were shaded with red crepe paper and fmllai and festoons' of the colored paper were draped from th chandeliers to various parts of the hall. Streamers
of red crepe paper decoated the windows and arches. On the walls were ! hung large posters with clever Leap year sentiments and rhymes. In the parlors and refreshment room the same attractive colors were used in the decoration scheme. The favora given In the
Vail room were little red hearts and red hearts tied with white satin ribbon were used as programs. Included in the program of dances was the Rye Walts and Robbers and Circle Two Steps. Charles McKelvey of East Chicago directed the musical program. His program was very enjoyable. The party iria one of the prettiest of the winter and was thoroughly enjoyed by the many guests. The lecture will be given under the auspices of the Epworth League and will be the fourth and last in the entertainment course arranged for the winter. Mr. Colby gives a unique and interesting entertainment and it is desired that there are many to hear him. He draws with Astonishing rapidity, accompanying his work o nthe easel with an almost countUiuous flow of humorous and instructive comment.

DIES OF PARALYSIS.
Mrs. Burch, wife of Burt Burch, of
Diamond's grocery, East Chicago,, died
Sunday noon of paralysis. The death
occurred in Plymouth, Ind.. where Mrs,
Burch has made her home, her hus
band having been in the habit of going
there Sundays to be with her. Besides
her husband deceased leaves three
children, Thelma, Laura and William,
the youngest a baby. Mrs. Burch has
been an invalid for about three years.
She became unconscious Saturday and
her death occurred Sunday noon. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Diamond went to Plymouth today to attend the funeral.
