lub Meetings MISS UESMOXO EXTERTAINS. Miss Kathryn Desmond very delightfully entertained the Beta Alpha Tan girls at her home in State Line street last evening. It was the regular b'.. monthly meeting postponed from Monday to Friday for the convenience of several of the members. The evening was spent very enjoyably in the usual social way" of the club. Xeedle work and cards were the diversions. Several games of bridge whist were played ot small tables. During a short business meeting plans were made for a theater party to be given Saturday, January 27th. The members will see "Gypsy Love" at the Chicago Opera Hous;. Miss Therese Porsey will be the next hostess and will entertain ' Monday evening. January 21st at her home In State street. At ten-thirty o'clock the guests were served with a daintily arranged lunorveon of two courses at tables in the dining room. The following members were present: Misses Genevtve Hastings. Elsa Masepohl. Berth and Beatrice Hansen, Lytta McMahdn, Therese Horsey and Kathryn Desmond. SOCIAL CI.VB IS OBGiXlIEl). A number of young girls met at the home of Miss Myrtle Huehnyin Logan street last evening for the purpose of organizing a social club. They will be known as the Bonita girls. They will meet every two weeks on Friday evening. The arrangements were not definitely made for the next meeting but the hostess will be named later. After the business meeting a pleasant time was spent socially with games, needle work and music Th serving of i dainty two course luncheon at ten o'clock concluded the evening's entertainment. Weeks opened her home In South Hohman street yesterday aft ernoon for the meeting of the Woman's Missionary Society of the; First Presbyterian church. It was the day for the regular monthly meeting and there was a very good attendance of mem- ' bers. The Invitation to attend was ex- ' tended the mebers of the soclet and church. The program was In charge of Mrs. E. M. Shanklln. She was as sisted by Mrs. Emma Cosgrove, Mrs. Nicholas Emmrllng and Mrs. O. T Klooz. The members began the study of "Western Women in Eastern Lands' jand the first chapter of the book was discussed, Mrs. F. M. Elliott lead the devotional exercises. . Miss Harriet Ferris, lonrano grave the musical pro gram. A social hour was enjoyed fter the program. Mrs. Weeks and 'Mrs. Minnie Kline entertained and during the social hour served their many - guests with a dainty two course luncheon. The meeting was very enjoyable. The announcement of the February meeting wll b made later. PARENTS CUB MEETING. A very interesting of the Parents' Club of the Lincoln school was held yesterday afternoon in the school hall. It was the afternon for the .regular monthly meeting and the attendance was reported -ery good considering the severe cold weather. I Albert Smith rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church gave a short address. Mr. Smith is a .member of; the Public Li brary board anil-in his talk he. urged the children to use the library frequently for reference work.. He spoke of the large collection of "juvenile books.
