Mrs., John ' Scherer presided at the pipe organ and for the entrance of the bridal party she played the Lohengrin Wedding March, The Mendelsohn Wedding March was played as the reces- J sional. During the ceremony , the chorl rendered a group of bridal anthems I among them Gounod's "Ava Maria." i Miss Emma Schuti. Therese Long served the bride as maid of honor and the groom's only attendant was Joseph Schnotola. The bride entered with her father who gave her away irt marriage. About forty friends and relatives of the young people were guests during the day. A beautifully appointed dinner was served at one o'clock. The tables were . decorated in th ebride's ehosen colors of pink and white. Rosfs and carnations were the flowers to carry out the colors in the dining room. Mr. arid Mrs. Terry left during the'aft.ernoon for thetir wedding trip. They will visit In several of the eastern cities and. will be absent from Hammond for ten days or two weeks. Ill BER A HOSTESS. A very enjoyable meeting of th-3 members of the Fleurdella Club waa held at the home of Mrs. Henrietta Huber in Truman avenue last evening. It was the evening for the regular weekly club meeting and all the members were present. They spent the evening very pleasantly at the card tables. Several games of pedro were played after which the honors were awarded. Mrs. II. O. Young won the first honors, Mrs. Charles Luthman the second, Mrs. O. G. Routsong, the third and Mrs. Kichols the fourth. The consolation prize was awarded to Mrs., Kralowet. A dainty two course luncheon was 3erved following the card games. In company with the club members Mrs. Blackmun entertained Mrs. Gerald Landon- Finch of Seattle, Wash., who is the house guest of Mrs. M. Louisa Woods of South Hohman street and Mrs. E. M. Shanklin. The afternoon was spent In the usual pleasant way of the club with needle work and music until four-thirty o'clock when-a dainty two course luncheon was served. Another party wilt be given in two weeks on Monday afternoon and the hostess will be named later. AN ENTERTAINMENT. The third in the series of entertainments arranged by the members of the Epworth League of the First M. E. church for this winter will occur Thursday evening, January 11th. Mr. Arthur J. Fischer, Impersonator an-1 reader will be the attraction. Mr. Fischer comes to Hammond highly recommended by the Redpath-Slayton Lyceum Bureau of Chicago with whom he has been associated for several seasons. Mr. Fischer will give a little three act play "A Pair of Spectacles," the story of two brothers, ore a pessimist and the other an optimist. It was their regular bimonthly meeting and after a short business seslon the evening was given to various social amusements. Needle work and music were the principal diversions. The meeting of the Beta Alpha Tau girls which was announced to take place last evening at the home of Misa Kathryn Desmond In State Line street had to be postponed on account of the illness of Mrs. Desmond. The members are planning to meet Friday evening of this week when Miss Desmond will be hostess. Cards and needle work will be the social diversion. HOLD WEEKLY MEETING. The members of the Ladies' Guild of St. Paul's Episcopal church will meet this afternon in the guild room in Rimbach avenue for their regular weekly business session. A meeting of the members of the Court- of Honor was held last evening in Weia' hall, lit State street. It was the regular bi-monthly meeting and the usual business and social progrram was followed. There were many members present, and Mr. and Mrs.' Bicknell of Indianapolis, deputies working in Hammond and vicinity, were also in attendance at the meeting. After the routine business had been disposed of the members planner for the next meeting to be held in two weeks on Monday evening, when a class of candidates will be Initiated. A social session will follow the business meeting. The supreme state commander will attend the meeting. It is desired that all the members are present, as the session promises to be very enjoyable. An important meeting of the members of Progressive Court No. 166, Tribe of Ben Hur. will be held this evening. in the K. of P. hall, In South Hohman street. The members of the Christian Spiritualist Society of Hammond, who met o-rig-inaJly in Weis' hall, met In the K. of P. hall last Sunday night and despite the cold weather there were about fifty members In attendance.
