Tjudwlg acted as sponsors for j the child and gave her the name Anna. following the church service a dinner was given at" the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynch. Only the members of the family and Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig were geusts. SPECIAL SERVICES. A week of prayer, will be observed at the First Presbyterian church beginning this evening and closing with communion services Sunday . morning, January 14th at 10:45 a. m. Services will be held every evening this week with the exception of Saturday. The Rev. Ferris of Pekin, III. will preach this evening and the Rev. A. W. Hoffman will occupy the pulpit at the other meetings. x CELEBRATE ANXIVERSARY. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. P. Kasper celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary Saturday evening January 6 at their home, 289 State steet. Cards weere played during the early part of the evening and the honors were awarded to Mrs. Fred Krolwita and Mrs. Frank Walker and to Fred Krolwltr and Geo. Painter. Following- this after which supper -as served and then all repaired to th basement' where they danced until j late in the morning. Mrs Kasper was presented with- some beautiful cut glass and haind painted china. . . c lub Meetings A BRIDGE DINNER. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hammond were "host and hostess to the members of the! Evening Whist Club Saturday at their home in Mason street. They e-ntertained j at a seven o ciock dinner ana cara party. A beautiful appointed dinner of four courses was served. Pink, and white were the colors carried out in the deoration scheme. A bowl of pink and 'white carnations formed the center pece for the table and daintily decorated place cards in the same colors were laid for twelve guests. Following tha serving of the dinner the guest returned to the parlors where the evening was spent at the card tables. Brldg whist was played at three tables After several games the honors were awarded. High scores were made by 'Mrs. T. W. Oberlin and Dr. T. Edwin Bell. In two weeks on Saturday evening. January 20th Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Hohman will give a bridge dinner at their home in Mason street. Their guests will be the twelve club members. Dr. and Mrs. T. W. The new models show high walsted effects on skirts and very slightly short walsted effects on coats and cloaks.
