The company is what is known as the "A" company, and is the best 'Madame Sherry" company on the road. The people have indicated fi? no uncertain manner that this is the kind of attractions they want. The burlesque show last night attracted a large attendance. The show was kept as clean as possible, according to Kingwill, and the manager of the company was warned that no course stuff would be tolerated. The experiment of having moving pictures on the night that the theatre was formerly dark is proving to be very popular. The crowds Wednesday night were larger than ever. The Lyric quartet made a great-hit.

Onanother occasion. Dean testified, on August 11, Dr. Hosmer of Gary was a witness in room 304 and heard the conversation between Williston and Dean in room 3GS. On this occasion. Dean said, ho paid Williston one hundred dollars in addition to the other two was conspicuous because of its absence in the list of city officials charged with having received bribes, went into

the court record yesterday because of an alleged conversation between Dean and the city engineer which the former related on the, witness stand yesterday. "He told me to let Castleman shout his Jjead off, because the public would then believe that nobody was getting anything." testified Dean. Name Untarnished. It will be remembered that Castleman lost no opportunity in making capital of the fact that his name was untarnished when the bribe scandal broke loose. The attorneys for the state are determined to get In h dictograph evidence verbatim. It is not probable that a dictograph will be demonstrated for the benefit of the jurors. By putting Stenographer Himmelblau on the witness stand to testify as to every line in the dictograph record. Attorney Parker for the state hopes to get all the dictograph conversations into the records.. Dean a Good Witness. Dean proved to be a good witness for himself and the state. In answer to the cross-examination by Attorney Drummond Dean denied being a detective.

Attorney Drummond went into Dean's antecedents to a limited extent yesterr day, but more was promised for today. Before the questioning had proceeded very far Dean in self-defense had to deny that he is and was a crook, deadbeat and scoundrel; that the government closed him up In the National Skirt company . for defrauding women through the endless chain system: that he was associated in business with an ex-convict, and that he defrauded widows and others in real estate deals. All this, however, is only the beginning of some sensational testimony that is to follow. According to his testimony Dean Is now the president of the Dean Paper company, which he says is a jobbing concern with offices in the First National Bank building in Chicago. He sad he was also Interested in eastern Kentucky coal lands, and that he came to Gary last spring with the idea of dealing in real estate Court will be in session tomorrow.
