Th baseball meeting to settle the -flairs of the Northern Indiana league for the 1911 season. scheduled for Thursday night at Hammond, failed to 'materialize, and the Crown Point delegates to the meeting- returned disappointed that the, business was not transacted. Crown Point has . a pennant and a prize offered by McGarry. the Jeweler, for the pennant winners, coming to it besides money and the local management are anxious to settle the affairs of the club and turn the reins over to some one else.
There, is some talk among the pupils of the high school relative to the starting of a school paper for the ensuing year, and with the consent of the faculty the idea, which is a new one to the Crown Point schools, may materialize. With" proper restrictions and wise management a, school paper or "bulletin would prov an idea of great educational value and arouse an Interest in school work that po other medium could. Besides its value as an educational medium It 'will, if properly conducted, give the outside world a knowledge and insight into the, school work which could not be gained In anyother way and be the means of laying the foundation for a career In JournalIsm for some pupil who shows a special aptitude in that line. "Muldoon's Picnic," -with full orchestra and band, a comedy supported by a strong cast, will be the attraction at Central Music hall on next Saturday evening. The attraction is one of the, best traveling the minor circuits and is guaranteed to be good. The show has appeared here before and given satisfaction. Miss Pauline Sauerman is visiting with friends in Chicago today. A good crowd of people attended the roller skating party at Central Music
hall last evening. and an enjoyable time is reported. The firemen held an important business meeting last evening, and several of the members were voted out of the ranks. Mrs. Clarence Rudolph is visiting wilh friends in Chicago today.
