Visitors were presen from six chapters in the vicinity. Mrs Halhruge of Rockford. Ind., the grand matron of the Indiana chapters was also present it the meeting. The gift to Mrs. Malbruge was a beautiful hand painted bowl. During the lodge ses sion one candidate was initiated and there was business of importance transacted. Rudolph Grothe, head machinistoperator ana foreman In Th Times linotype room, received the sad intelligence that his mother, who had been in the Deaconess hospital, Chicago, for a week with pneumonia, was dying and. hastening to her bedside, arrived there a short tim before she died at 5: JO o'clock. Fate has dealt sad blows to Mr. Grothe lately as his father went stone blind only a few months ago. Board to Meet. The police commissioners will hold their regular meeting tonight and will act upon the question whether the boxing match at the H. A.A. club will be held or not. The boxing fans are anxiously waiting for the decision of mayor and police commissioners as at present, they do not know which side of the fence they are on. It is said that the police will make wholesale arrests Thursday night if the bouts take place.
