The champs and their manager

Manager Keiser expects to play three or four postseason games providing the weather is favorable, the fans being anxious to prolong the season and be given an .opportunity to- see the best little team in northern Indiana give battle to some of the topnotchers. A city like Crown Point with its valuable homes should have the best and most modern means of flre protection, even If it has to econo. mize on other things. A team of horses and an outfit to haul the hose, ladders and other necessary apparatus to fires is the very least Crown Point should have -in th way of fire protection to the city. The plan should be further
investigated and carried through. Reports from the brick manufacturing company who have been investigating the value of land northwest of Crown Point for brick-making purposes were received by Crown Toint citizens yesterday, to the effect that the clay is ideal and especially adapted to the manufacturing of brick, terra cotta and other allied building material. Samples of the brick made from this local clay were sent ''for inspection and showed them to be of the best quality, hard, smooth and of the very best color. The clay is said to possess all the ingredients necessary for the manufacture of a high grade brick, and those who have been Investigating the matter are very much enthused over the finding of the clay deposits.
