Will Rule on Facts. Special Judge Charles Hanly of Rensselaer, will be in Hammond tomorrow for the purpose of ruling on the special findings of fact in .the case of the American Maize Products Co. vs. E. A. Shedd and C. B- Shedd. This case is one of the most important matters that has ever been in litigation in the courts of Lake county. The ruling on the special findings will give a good idea of the manner in which the decision will be made. Attorneys Crumpacker, Cru'mpacker & Tinkham represent the American Maize Products Co. and Fred Barnett
"Yes." said a prominent Chicago business man, 'I once mlssed a good chance to get rich simply because I would not take the time to investigate a little.
"A few years ago I happened to be j in Canada, and visited Calgary, which i was then a small but lusty town with ; a few hundred souls. Friends pointed out to me. that one or two hundred dollars invented in town lots there would bring me a fortune in a few years, hut I '.
laughed it off, and left the place without looking the matter up. Imagino my chagrin a few years afterward when the railroad had developed Calgary, to
hear that the very lots I could have had so cheap were selling as high as 120.000 to ?0.000, and just recently one
went for $60,000. Scores of other men who neglected
the Calgary opportunity are wiser now, and are turning to Fort Kraser, B. C,
as the next bonanza town to come to the front, and are putting their money into town lots there. Being in the center of a vast, wealthy
agricultural region, and commanding, the right of way of a big navigable river. Fort Fraser is wonderfully well located to go ahead with the same kind of phenomeal money-making progress as Calgary did. The great new Grank Trunk Pacific Railway, which is spreading from coast to coast, already had grading camps within two miles of Fort Fraser town site, and soon will connect this future metropolis with the outside world.
When the last spike is driven then hings will begin to move, and move
lively. Just as Calgary, Edmonton,
Prince Rupert and a score of other thriving towns bosted hundreds of lucky Investors Into fortune. Fort Fra
ser will do the sae thing for those wno
make up their minds quick and select lots now.
The best thing about the investment
in Fort Fraser is that you are assured of a square deal. The Brtish Columbia government Itself guarantes the titles, and no interest is olarge'd or taxes un
til the lots are fully paid for. Tou can get select locations for $100 to $150
and up (10 per cent down and 5 per cent per month), if you act before Oct.
25th, on which date prices take an upward jump all along the line. A small saving will take care of your investment now, and practically insure that you will at least double or triple your money.
Spence, Jordan Co., 312 Marquette
Building, are the town site special representatives fn Chicago, and will send
you detailed plat and special information about Fort Fraser on request. This
is a matter you should attend today if you want to get in on the ground floor. Adv.

Although Hammond dll, not awake to the fact until the eleventh hour that today Is Discovery day,' a legal holiday in Indiana, there were nevertheless enough signs of observation of the day to warrant celebrations on a large scale In the future. The law making Oct. 12th a legal holiday was enacted only at the last session of the legislature, but the general public did not become impressed with this fact until yesterday. The day carried some semblance of the holiday spirit because of the fact that banks and the city hall were closed for the afternoon. The pupils of All Saints' school enjoyed a day's vacation, while the pupils of the public schools were given a half holiday.
Unity Council, Knights of Columbus, has made elaborate preparations for the entertainnjent of the members and their ladies this e-ening. They will celebrate in their hall and club rooms over the Northern Indiana Gas and Electric company's offices. The Hon. John J. Poulton, of South Chicago, formerly a member of the Illinois legislature, will be the principal speaker for the evening. He is generally recognized as a brilliant orator, and will undoubtedly delight his audience this evening. The program also provides for entertainment along other lines. An elaborate concert program is also to be given at the Christian church in which patriotic music in hoor of the day will have a prominent part.
