Considerin' ez how they won't speak t" me, I must hev insulted Hek Spence's family purty bad by sendln" them thet last bushel o' "Maiden Blushes." j The Erie railroad Is now opearting a large work train with gangs of men and steara shovels between Crown Point and Palmer, cutting grades and making fills for their double track operations between Chicago and Hunt- , ington. Ind. No further news has been K'ven out regarding the removal of the Krie yards to this place, but the road's present operations lend strength to the ; supposition that radical and extensive changes are contemplated by the' Krle that will materially change the topography of Crown Point as far as rail- ( road tracks are concerned. NO SALTS, OIL OR PILLS BUJCASCARETS No odds how sick your Stomach ; how hard your head aches or how Bilious Cascarets make you j feel great. You men and women who somehow can't get feeling right who have an almost daily headache, coated tongue, foul taste and foul breath, dizziness, can't sleep, are bilious, nervous and upset, bothered with a sick, gassy, disordered stomach, or have backach anl feel all worn out. Are you keping clean' inside with Cascarets, or merely forcing a passageway every few days with salts, cathartic pills or castor oil? This (3 important. Cascarets work while you sleep; cleanse and regulate the stomach, remove the sour, undigested and fermenting food and foul gases; take the excess bile from the liver and carry out of the system all the decomposed waster matter and poison In the intestines and bowels. : A Cascaret tonight will straighten you out by morning a 19-cent oei from any drug store will keep your entire family feeling good for months. Don't forget the children. They lov Cascarets because they taste good tz good never gripe or sicken. .

The Woman's Study club held its second meeting at the library assembly room yesterday afternoon. The lesson on "Indiana's First Governor" was given by M-rs. H. V. Parry, and Mrs. J. Frank Meeker" led the table talk on "Manual Training in the Schools." After the critic's report the club adjourned to meet again mt Tuesday. Plans are under way to "wine and dine" the Crown Point baseball pennant winners at some near future date and a big banquet is one of the probabilities to the club members and management. The great work done by the Crown Point team during the 1911 season under, at times, especially adverse circumstances, Yas been the admiration of every fan in Crown Point and nothing is too Kood for the "speed boys" and fliamps. An effort will also be made to keep as much of the ball playing machine together as possible for the 1912 season as they are admitted the strongest ball playing organization In northern Indiana today, and with them representing Crown Point next year, the county seat would be insured of an enviable place in the baseball world at the end of the season. The banks, at least, will avail themselves of the opportunity to take a holiday next Thursday, the officers having decided to close the institutions at that time, whiclij is marked down as Columbus day on the holiday calendar. The postofflee and county offices may follow suit as Oct. 12 Is declared a national holiday in honor of the great discoverer of America. - Five carloads of stone are being put on Crown Point streets this week to repair the holes and bad places in the pavements made necessary by the settling of the sewer trenches. The trenches have settled for years and have required constant filling and repairs. It is thought, however, that this will be the last time that repairs will be necessary from that source of .trouble. The forty .hours devotional services

olic church, unprecedented interest having been evinced in the religious observance. Over 400 applicants received communion yesterday morning, which is said to mark a record In the annals of the church during the prolonged religious rites. The news that Rev. Dunlavy of the Methodist church of this place had been transferred from here by an edict of the Methodist conference in recent session was received here . with the greatest of regret by his parishioners. Rev. Dunlavy and family hold a high place in the esteem of Crown Point people and their removal . will be a matter of sincere , regret by those whom were acquainted with the family.
